JQG Mystery quilt – instructions for BLOCK 4

Wyoming Valley

The fourth block is a block that gives an anchor to the design.  You need to make four of these. Make sure the block measures 12” plus ½” seam allowance!

This block is a nine patch, consisting of two different square patterns and an interesting center block.  The top and bottom left and right blocks are true flying geese.

This block tests your piecing skills as the whole block consists of half-square triangles.

Cut squares 7/8” larger than the finished size (in this case 2″ x 2”). In other words, cut 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″. Pair two-two and sew a scant ¼” off the center. Cut to make two pairs.

There is, however, a pattern for piecing, either hand or machine for those of you that prefer to do it that way.

Fabric:

This block uses Light, medium, light-medium, and dark.
