JQG Friendship Meeting Workshop

We are introducing a new concept at our Guild meeting on Saturday 10 February. We offer you the opportunity to spend all of Saturday doing quilting related stuff: Shopping, attending the demonstrations and meeting, enjoying the exhibition of quilts, plus a new venture of spending the afternoon hand sewing in a workshop. How lucky can a quilter be to have all of this offered in one outing!

Added value Workshop:
As a special treat for members and non-members you may for the small amount of R100 attend a 3hour afternoon workshop – YOU’VE BEEN FRAMED – taught by Tracy Jackson. This will start at 13:00 in the marked venue.

Workshop description:
“Using the age old technique of English paper piecing and the hexagon shape, transform a portion of a much treasured piece of fabric into something truly special. A piece of embroidery, an old hankie or a piece of plain fabric which can be beautifully quilted afterwards can also be used.

This technique is so versatile, it can create a traditional piece, an ultra-modern one or any style in between. The options are endless!

Your class sample can be used on its own as a cushion cover, bag side, journal cover or small wall hanging. More pieces can be made and used together in a quilt of any size. It can also be used as the centre piece of a Medallion Quilt. Paper templates will be supplied.”
